My passion for teaching students comes from my younger sister. She is now in 1st grade, and I realized how hard it is to get her attention when it comes to school. I want her to be successful in what she does, and the first step is always education. This pushed me to feel the need to start tutoring other students. I understand how difficult it can be to learn, so my goal is always to teach in the easiest way possible. I started tutoring when I was 17 at a small academy, where I worked mostly with younger children. I loved how their faces would light up when answering correctly. I realized how easy it is to achieve happiness while learning. I worked there for a year until I had to leave to focus on all my college applications. I got my education in numerous schools. Starting from Shiloh Point Elementary, to Piney Grove Middle, and finally Alliance Academy for Innovation, where I got my high school degree. I am now studying at Georgia State University for my bachelors degree, and next year I will be transferring to Georgia Institute of Technology. After bachelors, I will be striving for my masters degree. I enjoy tutoring primary math because I have figured many tricks to make it easier for myself and my students. When I was younger, I found math easy because of how I solved my problems, rather than how the teacher would teach me. I would describe my teaching philosophy or tutoring style as comfortable and accepting. I want to make my students be comfortable in asking questions for anything. As a student in middle or high school, I found myself a little shy of asking questions. The main reason would be that I would be scared of my teacher's reaction. That is why I strive to be the teacher that makes her students comfortable in being curious of their education. Outside of academia, I love to watch movies, listen to music, and spend time with my family and friends. I also do henna art for people on the side. Most of all, my biggest interest is eating food. There is such a beauty to eating different types of food and enjoying all the flavors. Eating with the people you love elevates the experience as well. Overall, I enjoy many things in life and tutoring students is definitely one of them.
