I am a Freshman at Valdosta State University. My major is Applied Mathematics and I have been tutoring for 2 years now. I mainly tutor students needing help with the SAT writing and math portion, however my strengths are tutoring students in math. I always motivate and encourage my students to do there very best even when they feel overwhelmed and unmotivated. I became a tutor my junior year in high school because the tutoring company that tutored me saw my potential to tutor others. I became a tutor assistant for the tutoring company that helped me achieve my SAT goal and then 6 months after I became an official tutor. I have worked with students between ages 14-18. I have worked with advanced students as well as intermediate students. I strive to create a connection with my students, so that not only do they trust me as I explain to them material, but so that I can truly understand their learning techniques. Understanding my students is my #1 priority because that will allow me to not only form a connection with them, but help them succeed.
