I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and from SUNY Binghamton with an MS in Applied Math. I had a career in a major computer company. One of my tasks was mentoring younger employees. I got a great deal of satisfaction from this and as a result, I applied for a got an evening job as an Adjunct Math Instructor at a local Community College.
I have taught all levels of Algebra; a math concepts class; and several occupational math classes. I believe everyone can be successful in learning math. Typically, the challenge is finding the way to describe concepts that fit an individual's learning aptitude.
