Fueling my drive to tutor is the conviction that every student possesses the potential to grasp any concept, no matter how daunting it may initially seem. I have been privileged to witness many 'lightbulb' moments throughout my tutoring journey and it is this transformation - from confusion to comprehension, that motivates me to continue helping learners conquer their academic challenges. I strive to foster a supportive environment where students feel empowered to explore, make mistakes, and above all, grow.
My academic journey began at Florida State University, where I earned dual bachelor's degrees in economics and philosophy. I later attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law, receiving a Juris Doctor degree. My varied academic background enables me to offer a wide range of tutoring services. From standardized tests like the LSAT, SAT, and ACT, to subjects such as English, writing, economics, humanities, US and European history, civics, and law, I am well-equipped to guide students through an assortment of academic endeavors.
Despite the breadth of subjects I tutor, philosophy holds a special place in my heart. It stimulates a distinct thought process that challenges and enriches one's perspective. However, if asked to pick a universally applicable subject, I would undoubtedly choose writing. The ability to communicate effectively if fundamental in all aspects of life, and nurturing this skill among students is deeply gratifying.
My teaching approach is underpinned by patience, adaptability, and open communication. Recognizing that each learner is unique, I aim to tailor my teaching style to resonate with individual students. Regular feedback and interactive discussions form the bedrock of my sessions, ensuring that the student's needs are consistently met.
Beyond academia, I have a passion for travel, movies, reading, basketball, and video games. These interests add color to my life and often provide common ground with my students. Furthermore, I'm currently immersing myself in web development, learning languages like Javascript with a goal to transition my career in the long term.
