I am a passionate, nursing professional with over 30 years of experience with varying levels of caring for adults. Approximately 15 of those years were within a cardiac specialty. I have been a mentor, preceptor, resource, and instructor of unlicensed staff, medication aides, nursing students, new nurses, experienced nurses new to a specialty, and residents. I enjoy expanding my own knowledge by sharing with others to expand their knowledge. It get excited when I am able to facilitate the "aha moments" and students realize that he/she knows more than they thought and are able to begin to apply this acquired knowledge.

I earned my BSN from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1988. Years later I successfully completed certification through ANCC as a medical-surgical nurse, and in 2004 as a cardiac-vascular nurse. I completed my MSN in 2007 in adult health with a focus as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, followed by successful certification as a CCNS through ACCN. Additionally, I also maintain a current certification as a NPD specialist through ANCC that was achieved in 2021.
