I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Brownsville and Concordia University - Portland. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in reading and my Master of Education with a focus on reading curriculum and instruction. I have been an English Language Arts teacher for 20 years at the middle school and high school level. I have experience tutoring Writing at the college level as well. I am passionate about teaching students how to both analyze literature and communicate that analysis in writing. In my experience, I have also helped students prepare for and pass standardized tests for both state and college preparation. I am a firm believer in advancing one's education, as that will allow for many open doors of opportunity in the future. Every day I try to impart my knowledge and passion to all students, endeavoring to have a positive impact in their lives.
