I am a retired Army Nurse. I traveled a rather circuitous route in my education, starting with a Practical Nursing program in high school. I then challenged (CLEP'd) many classes to obtain my Associate Degree in Nursing and sit for the Registered Nurse (RN) boards. I finally returned to traditional college classes to complete my Bachelor Degree in Nursing. As a nurse , I have worked in multiple healthcare environments and specialties. These include a charge nurse at a county nursing home, hospital in and outpatient care from pediatrics to telemetry to psychiatry, prehospital care and deployment nursing with a combat support hospital. I have taught the Army Practical Nursing curriculum with a 100% pass rate. I also instruct numerous nursing continuing education classes such as Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum. I am fluent in Microsoft Office, but not as fast as my teens. I am a kinesthetic learner and use the method of see one, do one, teach one for my personal learning. I am passionate about tutoring and helping students because I love the "light bulb" moment when they really "get" a concept they have struggled with!
