I am a graduate of the University of East Anglia (UEA). I gained a Bachelor of Arts (with honors) in American History. This included a mixture of political, social and economic histories. I also gained a Master of Arts in International Relations. This was much more theoretical and focused mainly on international politics and economics, however my focus was on foreign policy especially. I have previously tutored on AP World, AP US and AP European History, as well as all UK based exam boards. Feedback from students has included improvements from E grades to A* grades, positive praise in relation to raising student confidence and resilience, and equipping students with relevant and appropriate tools to use in classroom and individual study. I have tutored students from across the world and pride myself on being able to build a strong and friendly rapport with students to facilitate successful sessions.
I currently teach both History and Politics in the UK at Further Education (AP/A-Level). This is a rewarding and fulfilling experience, I am comfortable making lesson plans, schemes of work, resources and integrating digital learning. I have high expectations for my students and aim to instil a responsibility of learning and a growth mindset to take them through their academic career, and I encourage transferable skills to take them through life as well. My teaching caters to the students, and tutoring will be the same - I will consistently set targets and refer to these as points of progression. I am exceptionally comfortable with both content delivery, marking work and exam skills/prep. Although I teach A-Level I am comfortable teaching all ages of History, I am passionate and extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the subject. Despite primarily teaching UK curriculum, I am comfortable and confident in teaching AP history subjects: World, European and American. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with my friends and family; sports (Football, NFL etc); maintaining my fitness and wellbeing; and enriching my mind via books, podcasts and days out.
