I aim to help students the best I can as I understand how overwhelming it can be to prepare for exams. The students in the years coming are students whose lives were turned upside down by the pandemic and no one could have prepared for this, including schools. I want to help bridge the gaps in knowledge students have as a result of interrupted studies. I hope to get my students the best grades possible. I've worked with students in the past with literacy help. In my time in A-Levels, I was paired with students in the years below to accelerate their potential. I ensured they kept up with their readings, expanded their vocabularies and increased their confidence in literacy and studies in general. For both GCSEs and A-Levels, I studied at Hatch End High School in Harrow. It equipped me with the skills to tutor students with confidence and skill. I currently tutor in Sociology and Philosophy at an A-Level level. I am able to assist in GCSE English Literature in certain topics. My favourite subject to tutor is Sociology due to the content itself. The subject challenges your perspective of the world and teaches you facets of society that would be otherwise hidden by mainstream media. I enjoy the subject as a whole which makes it my favourite subject to tutor. My teaching philosophy is that everyone has the potential to be greater than what they believe they can be. This means that with the right facilities, anyone can achieve top grades. Everyone possesses the skill and initiative to achieve high grades. My tutoring style enables the student to be active in their studies and take on the content head on. I want them to think critically about the topics at hand and be able to offer fresh perspectives. My interests outside of academia include skating, film and music. Film has been an all time interest of mine, from childhood animations I would indulge in as a child to the gory thrillers I know watch as an adult, film has always interested me. I also enjoy hobbies such as crocheting and reading.
