I have an MPED in Teaching English as a Second Language degree from The University of Western Ontario. I am also an ACE Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages certified from Renison University college. Since 2015 I have designed and taught the following English language courses: Communication Skills, English Grammar and
Comprehension, Composition and Communication, Academic Writing, Communication and
Technical Writing, Report Writing, Advance English, Reading and Comprehension, and
Creative Writing. Currently, I am working as an English professor at Fanshawe College, and I teach Writ and EAP courses to domestic and international students. I have polished communication skills of my students by motivating them to participate in oral
presentations, role-plays, class discussion and speaking activities. I have observed that as a
result of participating in oral presentations, role-plays, class discussions and speaking
activities my students have enhanced their overall communication skills and confidence.
I have worked very hard to improve writing skills of my students. I have designed a variety of
writing activities for my students. My students complete their writing tasks in class and I
provide them feedback in class. My constructive and detailed feedback has helped them to
write error free simple, compound and complex sentences. Likewise, my feedback has also
enabled them to use a variety of sentence structures and to create coherence and cohesion in
their essays which have further polished their writing skills and improved their writing score as
well.
I have designed very interesting Listening and Reading activities for my ESL students. I also
give very useful Listening and Reading tips to my learners. My students love to watch
podcasts and documentaries in class and then they complete their Listening worksheets in
class. They also enjoy reading informative articles in class and then they complete their
reading tasks in class. As a result of participating in class activities they have enhanced their
Listening and Reading skills.
I am a lively, energetic, passionate, creative and hard-working English language teacher. My
students are very special for me, and I will always work hard to make them autonomous
English language learners because I want to see them successful in their practical and personal life.
