I am a graduate of Albany State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in English Education. As a high school ELA teacher with over 9 years of classroom experience, I have assisted thousands of students in achieving substantial success in British Literature, American Literature, World Literature and composition. In my current role as a district Instructional Specialist, I have successfully aided our system in raising student achievement on standards-based English Language Arts assessments for middle and high school students over the course of 5 years, contributing substantially to our district's literacy goals. One of my life's most rewarding experiences has been encouraging, supporting and guiding students with specific feedback and instructional strategies that have enhanced their reading, writing and analytical skills. I am passionate about tutoring students within the ELA discipline as I am a strong advocate of promoting education in every possible way so that our scholars are prepared to face a world that is full of ideas and challenges.
Through tutoring, not only have I assisted students with achieving academic success but I have also witnessed students perform to their highest abilities on standardized tests as well.
As a committed educator, I realize that all students learn differently and ultimately, I have a responsibility to adjust my instruction to meet their learning needs. Education is the road that will lead students to their full potential in life and I am excited for the journey!
