I am getting my Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto, doing a biochemistry specialist, statistics major, and math minor. On top of these subjects, I'm also very comfortable tutoring physics. I've self-studied the MCAT in grade 12, have a 4.0 gpa, and am taking math specialist courses despite being a math minor. As an aspiring MD/PhD, I am very interested in medicine, research, and teaching. In second-year I worked as a research student at SickKids, a children's hospital, where I did many tasks like determine the utility of pharmacogenetic testing in patients from the Cardiac Genome Clinic, and update the pharmacogenetic testing panel for hospitals across North America. My work led to a prestigious publication that's currently being peer-reviewed. Before joining Varsity Tutors I've been tutoring for 6 years, so combined with my academic background, I'm confident that I can help you overcome the obstacles you want

Hobbies

From joining clubs to volunteering to spending time on hobbies, I have breadth and depth in my extracurriculars. My time management allows me to find time to play badminton, piano, shogi, join clubs, and watch YouTube videos on astrophysics. I've been in my high school's badminton team since grade 8, and led the team in grade 12. Now I participate in intramurals. As for piano, I got my ARCT in grade 9 and now play for fun. In first-year undergrad I also started shogi, now I'm 3 kyu and climbing. I've joined the chess club at UofT and will look at other clubs such as the astronomy club and HOSA. Extracurriculars are a great opportunity to learn something that you can't or don't have time for in a classroom. In the near future I'll start volunteering at hospitals
