I have both a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics, graduating from those programs in the upper portion of my class, and have been active for over 20 years in applying the Math skills I learned at university in both industrial and research settings as well as in high school and college classrooms. Moreover, I have helped students ranging from their mid-teen years up to their forties master the fundamentals of trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra, either through one-on-one tutoring or through formal classroom instruction and recitation.

Mathematics is a subject which I very much enjoy, and I try to share that enjoyment with my students. My teaching style reflects this attitude. I approach teaching and tutoring as a two-way street, encouraging questions from my students and asking ones of them. The questions I ask are meant to get my students thinking about difficult concepts in terms of simpler ones and tailored to their particular interests, whether they be career or hobby related. In fact, because of my broad career experience that spans the disciplines of engineering and the physical and social sciences, I am able to show how Math can be both useful and exciting to a most diverse group of students with varied interests. Instilling this excitement in students almost guarantees their success in the subject.
