I am passionate about helping others reach their fullest potential. The brain is a muscle and one needs to work it out in order to make it stronger. I believe that when the brain (student) makes mistakes it often means it's trying to figure out how to do something. Therefore, mistakes are ok, it's the brains process of learning. I prefer a student make mistakes with me, so we can make corrections together and practice for consistent accuracy and independence in the future.

I've been a special education teacher for almost a decade. I have taught all grades from kindergarten to 8th grade. Many of my students have had learning disabilities and challenges in both reading and math. Although I enjoy supporting students in grades 2 through 4, I am able to support students in all grades.

I received my bachelor's degree from Howard University. I received my first master's degree from Temple University and my second master's degree from CUNY Hunter College.

I tutor reading, specifically reading comprehension, writing, and elementary mathematics. My favorite subject to tutor is elementary mathematics. I had a difficult time with math when I was a child. I wasn't very confident because I didn't grasp the concepts that well. Now, as an educator, I enjoy helping students feel good about their ability to be a mathematician. With patience, time, and effort anyone can be successful in math.

I am patient and kind. My teaching philosophy is mistakes are ok because I am learning. I don't want students to develop anxiety because they think they need to be perfect. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. If you didn't make mistakes that means you aren't putting forth any effort. Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading good books, and spending time in nature.
