I have a PhD in chemistry from the University of Iowa. I specialize in physical and computational chemistry (this means I also know a lot of calculus). I am a new tutor and I am passionate about working with learners to make chemistry and calculus more accessible, especially to those learners who are historically excluded from math and chemistry academic spaces. I would like to be a professor and would really enjoy the opportunity to hone my teaching skills through tutoring individuals and groups. I try to employ teaching strategies to suit the learner specifically to enhance deep understanding. I like to do this by first understanding what skill deficits the learner has then focusing on how we can improve those skills to then tackle more complex problems. My philosophy is that once someone I teach can effectively teach a beginner, I've done a good job. I am happy to tutor you for the following subjects:
