Thank you for considering me as your tutor! I am so passionate about helping students because I was that student who needed the help when I was younger. Thank goodness for that great teacher support when I was younger, it has played a part in me becoming an educator myself. I loved working with my students and watching them grow with content knowledge. I take pride in finding ways to help students not only be successful now, but to help them form a foundation for any type of learning.
I have earned three degrees. They are an art associates degree, a Bachelor of Science, and masters in secondary education. I worked hard to earn these degrees and I know that some students feel that it is not possible for them to reach the level to earn these degrees, but with hard work and some great support, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
I LOVE all sciences. However, I would say my favorite science is biology. I tutor all sciences from 1st to 8th grade. I can also be a great help with math, reading, and writing.
My philosophy with teaching is, not everyone is the same type of learner. It is important for me to get to know my students and understand what their needs are, so that I can adapt to help them better understand the content knowledge. Education is not one size fits all. You must be able to adapt a lesson to assist your students so that they can understand and ENJOY what they are learning.
I have been in education for ten years and the worst thing for me to see is a student who feels unsuccessful. It hurts me to know that no one has tried to find a way for them to feel that bit of success. If we can just light a little fire in a student, that fire can ignite. Once that student feels a bit of success, they will want and desire more. To me, that is what it is all about.
