Greetings everyone! I am Mrs. Tracy Godfrey, and I am a 22-year veteran public school year, 17 years as a High School English instructor, as well as the Gifted Education teacher and Film Studies instructor. As a teacher, I have helped developed my students into leaders, creative thinkers, public speakers, critical thinkers, problem solvers, published writers and life- changers. I, myself, am a lifelong learner as I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education with a minor in Speech Communications from Shippensburg University, my Master of Education with a focus on curriculum writing from Pennsylvania State University, a Cyber School Training Certification from Neumann University and an Educational Technology Competency Certificate as well as Best Practices in the High School Classroom from UC San Diego Extension/University of California.
Some of my transferable teaching skills include effective communication through speaking, writing and listening, critical thinking and collaboration, planning and organization, and redefining what is possible, which in the classroom looks like - encouraging students, identifying their skills, nurturing their passions, and helping them to believe in themselves in order to succeed in life. As one of my favorite American Literature writers, Henry David Thoreau, once said, "This world is but a canvas to imagination." Join me, and we will paint it together!
