I'm a first year medical student at VCU interested in helping students learn and master high school and undergraduate biology! I love learning about the complexity of the human body and making it understandable to others. I worked as an EMT for a 2 years (1 part time, 1 almost full time) and studied biology in undergrad, where I graduated with honors and had a biology GPA of 3.87.
Although I like learning, one of my favorite activities is teaching others about the subject I love. When I was in undergrad, I spent 2 semesters as a teaching assistant for physiology, and it was by far one of my favorite experiences! I loved the chance to help students learn and reach their goals. And for them to see the joy of biology! It's a tough subject, but by explaining it in understandable ways, a lot of students have that "aha" moment where it just makes sense. I love seeing students enjoy biology and develop a similar passion for the subject.
