I have a degree inmechanical engineering from Penn State University graduating in 1970 and have worked in industry for over 40 years. I like to teach the practical aspects of math so that the student understands the value of it rather than just memorization.
Ocasionaly I will need to review the subject matter prior to tutoring, but the basic principles have not changed.
I enjoy helping the student develop an interest as well as an understanding in math.
I like to remain active physically as well as mentally and I enjoy the moment when the light goes on in the student's head and they develop a level of understanding. I have successfully tutored my granddaughter even though she had no real interest or aptitude for math. I enjoy golf and fishing as well as Texas Hold'em which puts my math skills to the test.
