I am a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute in the class of 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Physics and the Naval Postgraduate School in 2020 with a Masters of Science in Operations Research. I commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and have traveled all over the world both personally and professionally, specifically I have lived in Virginia, California, and Japan. A majority of the tutoring I have done has been peer-to-peer within the classes I'm taking but I did conduct more formal tutoring at the end of my senior year at VMI when I was a physics tutor for the academic center. Additional tutoring I have done has been for other Marines who have wanted to retake standardized DOD tests to improve their scores so they can apply for specialized programs and I have found this to be most rewarding helping other Marines achieve their goals and move on to be successful in their careers. I'm capable of tutoring a large range of subjects, but Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry are my favorites to teach. My teaching philosophy is that every student is capable of learning, but learning itself is a process that every student does in their own way; teaching styles need to be flexible depending on the student's learning style and needs, but most importantly it's up to the student to have the desire to learn. My teaching style has always been adaptive and I tailor how I approach instruction to who is asking the question and what their specific problems are for that subject. In my spare time, I have a wide range of hobbies, with all the places I've lived, I've needed to adapt and have a variety of hobbies so there's always at least one or two I can engage in wherever I'm stationed.
