I am a graduate of the University of North Dakota with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Cultural Anthropology.
I have a variety of work experience from raising sea turtle hatchlings, research and clinical laboratory settings as well as teaching reading and science in the school.
I am an outgoing person who loves nature, it's beauty and what our fellow inhabitants can teach us. In my teaching of elementary reading and math I like to bring my knowledge of biology, conservation and endangered species into my lessons. I believe when children can play to learn and are genuinely interested in the material, whatever subject interests them, then learning is easier and even fun! I have brought many kindergartners and first graders reading levels up throughout the school year with individual interventions that bring specific skills needed to each child.
I bring my many experiences and my background to my tutoring and encourage each individual to do their best to help them learn and uncover skills they can use throughout their own learning journeys.
We are all continually learning.
Outside of teaching and tutoring I enjoy volunteering in wildlife rehabilitation hospitals, boating, gardening and qigong.
