My name is Sara Sarmiento and I am a Colombian-American first-generation immigrant, student leader,
artist, and activist. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College where I was a Posse Foundation Scholar. At Mount Holyoke, I majored in International Relations and Critical Social Thought with the hopes of pursuing a law degree in the coming years.
I am passionate about Language, Literature, Writing, Speaking, and Communication. Reading and Writing have always been the most essential tools
not only to my creativity, but also to my academic excellence at all levels of education. I want to encourage communication with my students to ensjre that our sessions are best tailored to your needs.
I tutor a variety of topics in English Language and Literature, as well as Spanish Language and Literature. I can also advise with general essay writing, college application and essay writing, and other tasks of the like. I was an AP / International Baccalaureate student in High School and also am skilled in navigating these testing and essay formats.
While I believe that language and communication are integral in building leaders and change makers, I know that strong mentorship and patient guidance like mine will help students believe in their own abilities to use these
tools beyond their education and well into their futures.
