I am a voice instructor and choral director with 10 years of teaching in private and public singing settings. I earned my Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and I am currently in coursework for my Masters in Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Kansas. I have been teaching choir in public schools for seven years and I direct with an auditioned Youth Chorus in Kansas City. My expertise and passion lie with teaching middle school students to be life long music makers. I believe that music education enhances life experiences and exercises the brain, improving critical thinking skills, multitasking, and literacy and fluency, therefore transferring critical skills into various other subjects. In my opinion, it is imperative that learning music is fun, engaging, and challenging and I have no shortage of fun and successful strategies to help anyone improve their singing. My outside of singing hobbies include furniture rehab, yoga, crafting, and baking.

My biggest hobby outside of singing is baking and cake/cookie decorating. Pastry school was always my plan B after being a music teacher, and now I am able to do both!
