I am a second year biomedical engineering student at the University of South Florida with aspirations to become an orthopedic surgeon. My passion from a child has been to help people all my life. Being a doctor would let me live that goal. I majored in Biomedical engineering as I can learn the inner working of how medicine works and imaging devices. The other reason for and unorthodox major as a pre-medical student is the variety in jobs I can pursue. For example, working as an engineer I could research and develop medical devices such as pace makers and prosthetics.
