I am a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, where I received my bachelor's degree in Music Education. Although my main area of expertise is in music, I have always been a fan of mathematics, as well as fascinated by the intersection of the two subjects. I have 2 years of experience tutoring math to elementary schoolers and high schoolers at a local preparatory school. I am qualified to tutor Elementary and Middle School Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, as well as any variations of those subjects. I love discovering real-world applications for math skills, and I love being able to help students develop their own math skills so they can feel confident and curious as they interact with our world. I'm a visual learner, and so one of my passions is finding ways to represent potentially confusing mathematical concepts in a clear, interactive, intuitive way that helps students understand the relationships between different numbers and variables. Since graduation, I have been attending online seminars on education and music performance with world renowned soloist Lauren Pierce. I am K-12 certified in the main branches of musical instruments (including voice), although my primary instrument family is string instruments. I also have experience working with LGBTQ+ students. I am a firm advocate for all people to have the opportunity for education. I love working with children and students, and giving them the support and respect they need to feel confident in themselves.
