I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University this past May and my major was Electrical Engineering and minor was Japanese Language. I am a native Chinese speaker (both Mandarin and Cantonese) and fluent in both English and Japanese, recently I am also learning German. I was a Japanese tutor at Penn State during my senior year.
I started my journey in the USA when I was 14. I started to learn Japanese when I started college. I also studied abroad in Japan for 1 year in my Junior year of college. During the 1-year-stay in Japan, I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 level. Additionally, I obtained a full-time job offer working as an electrical engineer in Japan as my first job. Now, I am also a certificated Engineer In Training (EIT) approved by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers.
Although I can speak three languages fluently, my experience told me that learning and mastering a foreign language is not impossible but required commitment and persistence. However, I also found that learning foreign languages not only requires individual effort, you also need help from others, but sometimes I noticed, it is very hard to have someone to practice with. That is why I want to share my knowledge and experience to other language learners by being a tutor.
Personally, I am very easy person, so feel free to ask me anything you want.
