I'm Brittany, a recent grad of Rice University and a passionate teacher and mentor with a specialization in competition math (alongside chess and college counseling). Some facts about me:
I've competed in math and chess competitions since I was 11, winning several state and national awards throughout middle and high school. I have a USCF rating of ~2000 and have been invited to represent the U.S. in the International Youth Championships. I am a 3-time AIME qualifier and a Math Prize for Girls participant (top 250 female scorers on the AMC 10/12) & have perfect math scores in every standardized exam I've taken (SAT, PSAT, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, Subject Test Mathematics II). I am an experienced test-taker:
perfect AP scores on a wide range of subjects (Chemistry, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Psychology, US History, Physics II, Physics C, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics).
Regarding college support, I work with a handful of students each cycle, with student acceptances into: Harvard, Yale, UCLA, Rice, UC Berkeley, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, Washington University at Saint Louis, among others.
I am an enormous believer of fostering a comfortable, accepting environment where students feel open to exploring new ideas, concepts, and methods. I focus on personalizing each session in a casual but educational manner for my students, first gauging their skillset with certain concepts before tackling more challenging material.
