I am currently studying at the University of Maryland in College Park, where I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I am also interested in becoming certified to teach, so I plan to obtain a Master's in Secondary Education. I've had the opportunity to take education courses as an undergraduate, through which I've had the chance to prepare and carry out lesson plans in elementary, middle, and high school math classrooms. The Terrapin Teachers program has made me increasingly aware of the gap in educational opportunities afforded to students of color and their white counterparts, and I would like to continue to learn more about how to be an equitable teacher. I am very passionate about helping students form a stronger mathematical identity. I am most excited to tutor subjects like Algebra and Pre-Calculus that lay a lot of groundwork for core mathematical ideas.
