I am a current psychology student at a private liberal arts college, Dordt University, where I write for the campus newspaper and am a part of the honors program. After earning my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I will go to graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist, specializing in art and animal-assisted therapy. Because of my love for reading and writing, I've delved into this content area to explore the best it has to offer, and I've learned that I've loved to teach it. I'm also a bit of a science nerd and have done several research projects in biology, especially focusing on genetics. And, let's admit it, there's nothing more satisfying than completing an algebraic problem. In my spare time, I also teach art and animal-assisted therapy lessons.

I love helping others find a passion for learning and seek to help them by coming alongside them. By giving them the skills they need to succeed, I'm able to step back and let them continue to explore on their own.

Hobbies

I'm a bookworm, but I also love writing my own creations. I also run an art business. One of my favorite things about it is offering custom art; there's nothing more rewarding than helping a client create a treasured art piece of their own. I love animals and can often be found training my dog or horse. I'm in the process of training a service dog for a nonprofit that pairs these dogs with disabled veterans. I also work a lot with rescue animals, helping them trust humans and learn to love again. My horseback riding discipline is known as Dressage, which specializes in understanding the proper biomechanics of both horse and rider. It is all very scientific and closely correlates with my interests in those fields. I enjoy music and have found a niche called Musical Freestyle, in which I must create a Dressage performance to the music.
