I'm a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in 2 states abdva Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in a third, graduating from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology A.A.S. degree program and passing the VTNE. I returned to Stockton University for my B.S. in Biology and Marine Science, graduating with a 3.8 GPA.
As a Veterinary Technician, I have worked exclusively in emergency and critical care medicine for 11 years, then transitioned to zoological and marine animal medicine in 2019. I have career experiences as a general practice and surgery veterinary technician, human emergency room scribe, marine mammal stranding volunteer, ornithology educator and field guide, and tutor for biological, medical, and veterinary sciences.
I currently tutor for the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), zoology, marine science, medicine, and medical terminology. My style depends on how a student learns. Some are flash cards and quizzes, some like acronyms and songs (or even YouTube videos!), some like post it notes and bulleted lists, others are a mixture of everything! I like to understand how you learn so I can learn how to teach you! For myself, I can afford you many real life applications to piece together the big picture.
My goal is to guide future veterinary technicians, animal field caretakers, scientists, and medical professionals alike to accomplish their educational and professional goals, chase their dreams, and become better than they've imagined.
My hobbies include roller coasters (I've ridden almost 200 different ones across the country!), attending concerts (over 500 in my lifetime), kayaking, hanging out at the beach, horror movies, and spending time with my dog. I like to travel to tropical places, and LOVE visiting Costa Rica and the Florida Keys. My favorite animals are narwhals.
