I am passionate about my work as a tutor because I believe I can use my position to provide students with opportunities for a better future. Students are evaluated starting in preschool. If I can provide skills at any level that help a student perform better, those skills can alter the course of a student's life.
For the past 25 years. I have worked with students ranging from early elementary to high school, college and beyond. I have taught a variety of subjects including English as a Second Language, Shakespeare and AP English.
I have a BA in English from the University of Scranton and an MA in English from Western CT State University. I am happy to tutor English, reading and writing at all levels. If I had to choose a specialty topic it would be Shakespeare. I designed and taught a high school level Shakespeare class for many years.
As a tutor, my goal is to work with individual students based on their learning styles and outside interests. While this approach isn't always possible in the classroom, it is necessary when it comes to tutoring.
Outside of academia, my interests include film, music and travel. Thanks to my two sons, I am also an avid gamer.
