I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. I earned a Masters degree from Spaulding University in Teacher Leadership and a Rank 1 from Bellarmine University in literacy. I am a Reading Recovery teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools. I have been a reading recovery teacher for 4 years, I taught 1st grade for 6 years, 3rd grade for .5 year, and was a literacy coach for 2.5 years. When I am not reading or teaching someone to read, I enjoy spending time with my family doing things like going skating, bowling, walking in the park, and attending church. My faith in God supports my belief that that all kids can learn! Not in the same day or the same way, but all kids can learn. I believe that the children are truly our future and that Reading is Fundamental. When you teach someone to read, you open up the world to them. My goal is to open up the world for as many minds as I can.
