It is my personal belief, and the belief of many contemporary teachers and writers, that effective and powerful writing comes from the authenticity in the author's voice. I have worked with many different members of my community to help refine the process of communicating authentically, and to help preserve, empower, and make known the voice of marginalized or underrepresented groups of individuals. There is a profound lesson in being capable to learn and grow alongside diversity, adversity and uncertainty as I have since beginning pedagogical education in 2011.
