I am a junior on a gap year from Texas A & M University, working towards a degree in Mathematics (concentration in Physics). While at Texas A & M, I've worked as a writing consultant at our University Writing Center, working with graduate and undergraduate students on all steps of their writing process. I helped students across all disciplines, and at all skill levels. On any given day, I would review work ranging from personal narratives in Freshman English classes, to PhD Dissertations from Nuclear Engineers. I have built a broad range of academic knowledge, and, the ability to succeed with students on many different subjects.
I put a lot of work into my abilities as an educator. After taking three semester long classes, I received a CRLA Level II Certification in Tutoring, requiring me to learn about the best teaching practices for one-on-one settings. Because of this, I pay a lot of attention to detail, and like to build a strong understanding of a student's needs. I adapt my curriculum to each student, and try to get back as much feedback as I give to ensure they grasp what we're doing.
On my own time, I love to play "Jeopardy!", listen to podcasts, do woodworking, ride my bike, and practice my viola!
