I have a Masters of Arts in Global Affairs from Rice University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science at the University of St. Thomas. I currently work in business development for an international transportation service provider with a focus on Latin American markets.
As a native from Venezuela raised in Houston, I speak and write in Spanish every day in professional and casual settings, and understand how certain meanings and concepts can end up lost in translation. I enjoy helping others address these challenges by helping put Spanish into a more familiar context so that their understanding of the language goes beyond textbook definition and becomes more natural overtime.
My academic strengths are in the social sciences, especially American and world history. I find that the most engaging method of learning about the past is by connecting the dots to reveal the inner-connectivity of world events. Understanding the past provides greater insight into the present, and I enjoy helping others to develop the skills necessary to confidently explain the historical significance of events gone by in time, from ancient to recent.
I genuinely appreciate working with others to tackle the challenge of learning new concepts and help them ultimately accomplish greater levels of understanding on their own. I look forwarding to helping you do the same!
