My name is Connor, and I am a student at the University of Kansas majoring in Computer Science. I mainly tutor ACT prep and programming in C++. To me, one of the most satisfying feelings is helping someone develop and understanding of a concept they are struggling to grasp, which is why I love tutoring! Learning is something I've always valued highly, and it has always pained me when I would see my peers disregarding school and education as boring or useless. To me, however, this is a sign of the teachers failing to inspire and spark interest in their students, which is my biggest priority as a tutor!
I have been programming for about 5 years now, mainly in C++, and have recently taken a C++ class at the University of Kansas. Some of the personal projects I have created include a fully functioning Checkers AI, a Blackjack game, and several choose-your-own-adventure games. Besides programming and tutoring, I am an avid music listener and collector, and I also enjoy movies, books, tennis, and fashion.
My prior experience includes organizing and participating in several volunteering events for children in foster care. This requires interaction with elementary-aged kids, so I am comfortable tutoring any age group! Tutoring is my main focus at the moment as I am between semesters at the University of Kansas, so you can expect me to be easy to reach and dedicated to helping. Please, feel free to contact me!
Learning always has the potential to be interesting and entertaining, depending on how it's taught. My aim is to provide this service!
