My first science experiment involved a blow dryer, a basin of water, and a heat lamp. When I was eight years old, I thought I could build a miniature storm cloud after learning in school about how the water cycle works. Though the experiment was not exactly a success, I have been trying to understand how things work ever since. I attended the University of Chicago where I received a B.S. in mathematics and B.A. in physics, both with honors. Currently, I am a graduate student at New York University pursuing Ph.D. in theoretical physics. Specifically, I study modifications of Einstein's theory of general relativity that could possibly explain the mysterious phenomena of dark energy and dark matter.
I have been teaching and tutoring math and physics for the past 6 years or so and I don't plan to stop anytime soon. Though I have been a teaching assistant in courses such as calculus, real analysis, electromagnetism, and relativity and other college level math and physics courses, I love tutoring students of all ages and levels from elementary school through college in subjects ranging from adding and subtracting fractions to solving Schrodinger's equation.
Outside of academic pursuits, I enjoy playing pick-up basketball when I can, going on to the beach and on various outdoor adventures with my family, and hiking when I can get out of New York City.
