I am currently a PhD Candidate specializing in Critical Theory and American Literature in the English Department at Georgia State University, where I also earned my Master of Arts degree in Literary Studies. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010 in English/Creative Writing from the University of Georgia.

Over the past 6 years, I have taught undergraduates from a diversity of cultural and disciplinary backgrounds in freshman composition classes, sophomore literature surveys, as well as upper-level practical grammar courses. In 2017, I received GSU's Advanced Teaching Fellowship, a competitive fellowship awarded to PhD students for teaching excellence and advanced scholarship. I also have many years of experience (extending even further back into my professional history) tutoring students of middle-school, high-school, and collegiate (both graduate and undergraduate) age in all aspects of writing, research, and composition. For instance, in my capacity as tutor at GSU and elsewhere, I have assisted students in their efforts to produce refined and eloquent academic and non-academic prose, ushered them through the process of conducting and organizing academically appropriate research, as well as provided both hands-on instruction and online consultation to students preparing for a variety of examinations (SAT, ACT, GRE, GED). As a long-time student of literature and emerging literary scholar, I also have maturely-developed skills in reading and critical thinking that make me a suitable candidate for delivering expert-level guidance in liberal arts to students of all ages.
