Hi my name is Dr. Peter Scheerer. I am a graduate of The University of St. Thomas where I received a B.S. in Neuroscience and B.A. in Spanish Culture and Literary studies. I went on to medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine where I graduated with a Medical Doctorate. I will be pursuing a master's in public health at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health in the 2019-20 school year prior to starting my residency training. I have tutored students from a broad age range including elementary school all the way to medical school in a variety of subjects. I have worked as a special education paraprofessional and worked with students with Autism and other behavioral problems. I served as an English tutor for three years at the University of St. Thomas where I worked mostly with freshman level English Literature and writing courses. I also volunteered as an ESL tutor for refugee children in Minnesota at the elementary school that I worked at as a paraprofessional. I have tutored first year medical students in Biochemistry and Anatomy and Physiology. I tutor a wide range of subjects, but my favorites are: Psychology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Literature, and Writing. I truly enjoy learning and love to help others succeed. Education and knowledge are some of the most powerful tools for liberation that anybody has to grow and change not only their own lives but also to alter the world around them. Therefore, I hope that you will allow me the joy of helping you to achieve your goals. In my spare time I enjoy reading classic fiction and poetry, exploring New York City, and watching or playing almost any sport.
