Greetings,
Hello, my name is Jonathan Griffin (Mr. Jon), and I am a Detroit native that attended DPSC from first to Third grade, afterward I was homeschooled throughout high school. I graduated at the age of 16 and started working full-time in early childhood education. I was also a member of the Mosaic youth of Detroit. I obtained My Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts Education from Marygrove College; this was a dual degree combined with the University of Detroit Mercy. Here I served as the pioneer for the program. Also, I was on the student board of appeals at Marygrove College. After Graduating I continued to work at Marygrove as a school administrator in Financial Services. I have been married for six years. Both my wife (Lalisha) and I have three daughters (Zoe, Joelle, and Rylie). I created my online baking business in 2014 and in that same year I pursued my Master of Business Administration degree. Now ten years later I am finally back to where I was originally led, TEACHING! Teaching Philosophy: What's the Golden Rule? Something that was instilled in me at a very early age is the notion: Treat people how you want to be treated. I believe if everyone used this simple concept all the time, we could and would make this world a better place to live in. I prided myself in Gandhi's famous quote: "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." My goal this year is to unlock our students' imagination, have fun, but most importantly learn from each other. My focus is to create a friendly, safe and encouraging learning environment. Lastly, I will share our class FOCUS values:
