I'm Christine, an experienced education professional with a B.S. in Linguistics and an M.A. in Education. I have 5 years experience as an ESL specialist in public schools and 2 years experience as an ESL instructor in a private language institution. I am currently certified by the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education to teach English for Speakers for Other Languages, Spanish, and Elementary Education.
Connecting with others is what makes education so powerful. Over the years, I have formed meaningful connections with so many of my students. Seeing my students succeed, take ownership in their learning, and feel empowered motivate me to be the best educator possible.
I am a flexible and creative teacher who has worked with ESL students aged 5 through adult. Whether they are a newcomer just starting out in the language or a college student needing to brush up on academic English, I can create tailored lessons to meet each student where they're at. I draw upon my second language acquisition knowledge and linguistics background to make the most appropriate language scaffolds for each student so that they can achieve success.
I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals with confidence.
