My name is Phyllis and I'm looking forward to meeting and working with you! I have a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi.

Qualifications and Experience
I am currently working for another tutoring company as a Remote Tutor and providing in-home tutoring services to an elementary grade level student who is struggling to read and wants to improve his reading, writing and spelling skills. I also currently work for Language Trainers as a Remote Freelance Teacher and have provided tutoring services to an Italian native and online tutoring services to a French native who were seeking to improve their English-speaking abilities.

I also have 6 years of previous teaching experience from working with the No Child Left Behind program which was partnered with the Memphis City School System. In that role I was responsible for going into the child's home and providing them with Reading, Writing and Arithmetic tutoring services. I also worked as a Youth Library Services Assistant for 4 years with one of the public libraries here in the city of Memphis and was responsible for Youth programming as well. I assisted individuals that entered the library with a variety of request. I really enjoy working with learners of all ages.

Teaching Approach
My teaching approach has always been the same. I begin by introducing the student to a new concept and practicing that concept with the student until I feel that they can accurately repeat the idea or concept to me. Then I will get them to demonstrate their understanding and address any questions that they may have at that point. If there are no questions, I will then leave the student with a homework assignment. When the next teaching session begins, we will start by reviewing the homework and answering any new questions before we proceed to learn something new.
