My name is Mariya. I graduated from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2018 with a BA in
History. I have been working in education for over five years and have incorporated different learning
styles and methodologies into my work, including Montessori, Reggio Amelia, and Reggio-inspired. I
recently taught English at a British international school in mainland China. I am TEFL certified and have
taught ESL for all age groups and levels. In addition to English, I have tutored GED studies (social studies
and sciences), and K-12 general studies with a focus on history and language arts. My career as an
educator and tutor oftentimes overlaps with a personal drive for understanding the world we live in.
My educational background includes international law at Leiden University in the Netherlands, Bridge to
Business pre-MBA program at Georgia Tech, and a wonderful summer program learning about
photography and health at Veritas University in San Jose, Costa Rica.
