Hi, I'm Connor! I am a current student at Johns Hopkins University, and I intend on majoring in computer science. Prior to Johns Hopkins, I attended Phillips Academy Andover, a preparatory school located in Massachusetts. My entire life I have been passionate about learning, and I hope to be able to help motivated students succeed in their own academic life by providing assistance with course materials and standardized test preparation. Having recently attended high school, I understand many of the frustrations and struggles which current students are undergoing today, and, as a result, can better connect with students, fostering a more engaged and motivated attitude within them.
Thanks to my education, I have a strong background in a variety of disciplines including math, computer science, english, biology, essay writing, and more. In addition, I have worked as a tutor for the past two summers teaching SAT math and computer science to students ranging from elementary school all the way to high school.
As a computer science major, I have a lot of experience with mathematics. I am well versed in teaching K-12 math, including basic arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus. I received high marks on my standardized math testing, both for the SAT and the AP BC Calculus test. Furthermore, I have developed a comprehensive curriculum for teaching SAT math, which caused my previous students to raise their SAT scores by an average of approximately 100 points.
Throughout my education, a large emphasis has been placed on mastering the english language. I have extensive experience writing essays. I can help students with argumentative, expository, and creative essays, as well as poetry. I am deeply familiar with many of the literary tools involved in crafting a phenomenal piece of writing, and as a result can help students bring their writing to the next level. Furthermore, I have a deep understanding of the SAT Reading and Writing sections, and can help students raise their score in these respective areas.
All my life I have been extremely passionate about computer science. I started programming in 6th grade, and have not stopped loving it since. As a result, I can clearly and concisely convey computer science topics to my students. I can help demystify complex concepts, and act as a helpful resource for students to master their language of choice. I am highly familiar with the AP Computer Science test, and can help students prepare in the most efficient and productive way possible.
I encourage you to contact me if you are looking for a qualified, young, passionate tutor in any of the areas above! My hours are highly flexible, and I'm willing to arrange both online or in person sessions. In addition, I'm available all hours of the week, so I can work around your schedule. I can't wait to help my students succeed in their courses and standardized tests!
