I'm an English teacher, tutor, and translator with a degree in Language and Linguistics. I've been tutoring and translating for three years, and my experience has ranged from teaching elementary students ESL to teaching Grad students GRE Prep.
As a bilingual myself who has been learning new languages for a long time, I understand and empathize with people who struggle with language learning. It is indeed arduous and oftentimes draining, but the pay off is truly worth it. Beyond getting good grades and passing exams, I believe that language opens doors to many opportunities and experiences in life. As such, I hope to show how learning English, be it speaking, listening, reading or writing, does not necessarily have to be a stressful process but can actually be fulfilling and enlightening as you learn more about yourself and the world around you.
My main subjects of expertise are English Reading Comprehension, Academic Writing, TOEFL, SAT, GRE Prep and ESL. I absolutely love working with various students and seeing them grow over time. I believe that teaching should always be student-based, which means I'd like to get to know my students individually and understand what their goals and needs are so that I can find ways to best support them.
When I'm not teaching, I love to do photography, read novels, play with my dog, and box occasionally. I'm also teaching myself Korean and Japanese, and my goal is to be able to watch movies and shows without any subtitles.
I look forward to being a part of your language learning journey!
