I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland (UMBC) and obtained a Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences in 1988. I was a research technician and laboratory manager at Johns Hopkins Medical School and also at Duke University Medical Center. I began tutoring math and reading, as a volunteer, to inner city children in Baltimore, MD, and also to adults at a literacy center in Durham, NC. Through that work, I have learned how to teach students with different learning styles. My passion is helping students who are struggling with math, and giving them confidence. I've been tutoring professionally for over 10 years.
