I am a certified teacher. I currently hold a State of Michigan Standard Teaching Certificate to teach secondary level Spanish, which is valid until 2023. I hold a Master's in Educational Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's in Spanish from Michigan State University. I have studied abroad in Spain and worked in Spanish speaking environments (immigration law, ESL), and I love teaching language!
I can help with conversational Spanish, beginner or advanced vocabulary acquisition, reading and writing, translation, and more specialized skills like business Spanish, literature studies, and academic writing in Spanish. I use Spanish every day in my work environment and in my personal life, meaning I am comfortable with professional legal Spanish at work and casual Spanish at home. I have lived and worked in environments with a range of Spanish accents and linguistic differences, and I am comfortable tailoring my speaking and educational materials to match the learning desires of students.
I dual majored in English at Michigan State University, and can work with beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels from kindergarten to undergrad. This includes grammar, vocabulary, phonics, styntax, standardized test preparation (ACT, GRE), essay writing, and more.
Guess which Spanish-speaking country I took my profile picture in!
