Hello, my name is Saskia! I am a recent VCU graduate with dual degrees in chemistry and biology and a minor in mathematics.
I absolutely adore science (especially chemistry!)/ math and am always excited to share my passion with students!
I am outgoing and have a very nurturing nature, so I prioritize making learning fun for my students while tailoring to their personal learning styles to best help them achieve their goals. I will push students, but I will never be mean or harsh. I can adjust my teaching to be more challenging for students who feel under-stimulated in their classes or to be more accessible/easy to digest for students who have difficulty understanding concepts.
My specialty is in organic chemistry - I have taken both semesters of undergraduate ochem along with one semester of a graduate course. I ranked 99th percentile on the ACS exam for both semesters, and enjoy teaching students how to think through the exams. Additionally, my research is in organic synthesis, which I use to show students real world examples and applications of reactions/mechanisms.
Undergraduate Degree: Virginia Commonwealth University - Bachelor of Science, Biochemistry
