My name is Jack Doyle, and I've been playing music for over 13 years. I started out as a bass player, and taught myself to play guitar in high school. Currently I'm studying flamenco guitar at the New York Guitar Academy to expand my techniques. In my experience teaching, I find that students feel the most rewarded when they are able to hear themselves improve quickly, so I focus on performance first and then music theory concepts afterwards. I am also able to teach self-accompaniment, as I often sing when I play, and will cover that with anyone willing to learn. Though I was often self taught, I strongly believe in music education, and find that it has dramatically improved my playing. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, reading, and discovering new music.
