I have been in the education field for the last eighteen years. I started as a second grade teacher for a start up charter school in Kissimmee, Florida. During my time at this school, I taught second, third, and fourth grade and was the Academy Leader, a leadership position in which I led the 3rd-5th Grades.
After obtaining my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, I took the position of School Leader (Principal), of a start-up charter school in Manatee County Florida. Over a four year span, we were able to increase the enrollment of the school from an initial 57 students to over 650 students!
After my time as a School Leader, I wanted to sharpen my schools as an instructional leader. In 2012, I taught third grade again at a struggling school in Manatee County. I also began to do consultant work with charter schools. I led workshops that assisted charter school teachers with designing, implementing, and assessing lessons that utilized the new Florida Standards.
For the last four years, I utilized my instructional technology skills as the Media Center Specialist of a successful school in Manatee County Florida.
I now have decided to devote my time to building a tutoring and consulting company for students, teachers, and parents. And one day, I have aspirations to open my own school.
